Byron McCray is an author and illustrator who proudly represents his beloved hometown of Brooklyn, New York. Byron’s passion for color, music of all genres, and telling the stories of black culture, shines through mixed media portraiture and illustrations he has created for albums, greeting cards, and theatrical posters. With a client list that includes fellow Brooklyn natives, Spike Lee and Shawn “Jay-Z” Carter, he continues to share his intersection of art and music with the world. Today, Byron paints to the soundtrack of 90’s Rhythm & Blues while living in Connecticut with his husband, Nicholas, and dog, aptly named Brooklyn.
